We are excited to offer study abroad in one of the most beautiful, historical, and culturally rich areas if the world – Tuscany, Italy. Our program is hosted at the University of New Haven’s Satellite Campus in Prato, a close neighbor to Florence, the glorious cradle of the Renaissance. This is the University’s first solely operated international campus and provides an exceptional opportunity for UNH students to immerse themselves in the culture and language of Italy. Prato is the second largest city in the region and is off the beaten path for tourists, assuring an authentic Italian cultural experience.

While in Prato, students live in and near the historic city center. Here, they find everything they need for day-to-day life. The school and housing locations are no more than a 15-minute walk from each other. The train station is located five minutes’ walking distance from the school. There are many restaurants, shops, pharmacies, and groceries in the area as well. Prato is also ideally and centrally located for exploring – it is only a 20-minute train ride from Florence and just an hour by train from the coast. In adjusting to life, Italian-style, students don’t ever feel alone. Whether it is for help in navigating the area or for any other issue that arises, students rely on our staff for support at all times.

Course Offerings
Lyme course offerings at the Tuscany Campus will be provided to students at a later date. Courses will be tailored to the students that enroll and ensure students can make appropriate progress toward degree completion.

Financial Matters
Students are billed as residential students. Charges include Lyme tuition and fees, UNH standard double room and the platinum meal plan. Your scholarships and aid will be virtually unchanged.  Students are also billed the cost of airfare. In order to ensure that all students arrive to Prato as a group, the University purchases group tickets.

Students must pay all expenses associated with obtaining or renewing their passport, and shipping and preparing visa materials.  Students must get to and from the departing US international airport at their own expense and by their own arrangement.
Housing & Meals
At the UNH Tuscany Campus, meals are provided through a meal voucher system that the University has established with a number of cafes and restaurants located throughout the city center. Housing is provided by several institutions located in the picturesque city center. Each residence is a short walk – just 15 minutes or under from the school and from the other residences.
