Program Description:
SRISA offers a challenging and rewarding year-round accredited course curriculum through our three academic programs: FINE ARTSLIBERAL ARTS,  and DESIGN
The INTERNSHIP and SERVICE LEARNING program is available during the semesters. Courses are taught in English language and follows the US-credit system. 

INTERNSHIP PROGRAM
The internships are unpaid and are offered for 3 credits. Students must work a specified number of hours during the semester as required by the home institution. The student’s final grade will be dependent upon their quality of work, timeliness, and accountability. Students that have some Italian language competency will have more opportunities, however, speaking Italian is not a prerequisite for participation. Internships take the place of one course.

VOLUNTEERISM AND SERVICE LEARNING
The SRISA Volunteerism Program provides an invaluable opportunity for SRISA students to study and volunteer abroad in Florence. The service opportunities are unpaid and are offered for 3 credits. Students must work a specified number of hours during the semester as required by the home institution. Students that have some Italian language competency will have more opportunities, however, speaking Italian is not a prerequisite for participation. The service learning opportunity takes the place of one course. 
Opportunities include:
• Caretaking and outreach at local childcare facilities; English or Italian language.
• Caretaking and outreach at local senior care facility; English or Italian language.
• Community activities organized by local church, including: Food Bank, Community Clean-up.
