Program Highlights: This program will offer students a chance to engage critically with the effects of the Revolution in Cuba. Students will investigate the degree of which the revolution made Cuba equal through the lenses of sport, music, and food. While in Cuba, students will participate in guest presentations about race, gender, economics, and US-Cuban relations by Cuban scholars and local experts. Site visits will range from the relatively privileged patrons at the hip music and art venue La Fabrica, to the marginalized unauthorized migrants in Mariano. Excursions will also include the Museum of the Revolution, Centro Africa, organic farms, urban markets, and more.
